Desktop Clock App Reviews

Slow to update coming out of sleep

Based on reviews, I decided to purchase this simple clock app. In my first day, Ive noticed that when I wake my computer the clock shows incorrect time. It takes some time before it will update to the current time (were talking 30 seconds or so!). Not what Id expect.

Not able to add custom?

You guys are missing a few places, and not allowing us to simply pick a time zone and label it how we want is silly. Example - Seychelles, Africa. Its not listed on the choices, nor is there any other place in Africa that is +4. So my only option is to choose Dubai. Which is not Seychelles, nor is it Africa. I also had to google and search to even find a city that is +4 so I could get the right time - clicking every option in the app to finally find one that matches was not fun.

Useful. Time zones broken.

This is mostly a good program, but its hobbled by its silly time-zone implementation. I needed GMT without DST; I had to do some research and use São Tomé, Africa! Drop the way-too-long list of cities and give us actual time zones instead. The variety of faces is OK, but the only typeface on them is a huge version of the old Mac font.

Where is India?

I swear I used it before but the way it is laid out, it is VERY difficult to find a place, e.g., India. 1. Can you allow sorting by cities as well? 2. Where are all the cities in India? ;-( I have looked it 3 times combing through and my eyes are starting to hurt. If no India, I will give this 1 star as it is where I need to travel frequently.

India Timezones?

I’m trying to have a time for my colleagues in Bangalore? Am I missing something?

Its okay but missing a few features

The look and options are well thought out. The one thing that is missing is having Universal Coordinated time as one of the choices. Someone who uses World Clock on a daily basis would consider this a massive plus. Other than that it is clean and simple and user friendly.

Almost but not really

Well write-up shows 4 clocks. Close actually 3. Clock #2 sets itself to local time and no matter the efforts I have tried will set it to anything else. So, for $2.00 you should actually pay $1.50 for what you get? If you need 3 clocks this is the program for you…...

Desktop Clock

App will not open!!!!! No support available!!!! Just got screwed for $2. Save your money

Doesnt even show correct time

Set one clock to Denver - America (Colorado) and it showed it as EST…..Really?

Do not buy this app- it won

Do not buy this app- it wont open

The Update killed the app for me.

Ive been using Desktop clock for a long time now, no problems. This Update (v1.9) wouldnt open in 10.7.5. I had to restart to get it to open. If I close it, I have to restart to open it again. v1.9 didnt give me any new clocks. Get-Info says I have it, but the clocks are the same as in v1.7. Since both versions have eight clocks, the Update with "New Clocks added" would seem to have had to remove some of the old clocks. I like a few of them and dont care for the new ones shown on the Devs App Store page. I dont know if I can copy my previous version from another one of my Macs. Ill try some troubleshooting and amend this review if Im successful.

Exasperatingly difficult to modify (or uninstall) once installed

Tells the time OK. BUT after installing it, I have found NO way to adjust it, NO way to stop it, NO way to uninstall it. (It doesn’t appear in login items, nor in system preferences. Aparently will restart at each reboot whether you want it to or not). In short, a pretty clock but dismal user controls. Wish I hadn’t installed it.
